A massive database of 8 billion Thai internet records leak
Security researcher Justin Paine discovered an exposed ElasticSearch database containing billions of real-time internet records on millions of Thai internet users. This database appears to be controlled by a subsidiary of a major Thailand-based mobile network operator named Advanced Info Service (AIS). This was not a single server left exposed to the Internet without authentication. The main database he located was part of a cluster of three ElasticSearch nodes. The researcher also located a fourth ElasticSearch database containing similar data as well. AIS has been notified of all of these exposed databases.
